CICA (Pronounced See-Ka)

So this is Cica. I'm way excited to have him. He's way good with Candice and Quin. We haven't really introduced Zoee to him just yet. Sarge and Winnie have met him but it will take some time for them to get used to him. Anyways, I start K-9 school at the end of this month, and I will be in school with Cica for pretty much the rest of the year.

busy times...

Wow, we've been really bad at keeping this updated! Things are going well, but definitely busy. We are currently undertaking the basement and are hoping to have that finished by summer. Thanks a ton to Niel's dad - who refuses to let us hire it out when he knows he can do it himself - and he's been kind enough to let us pay him in Subway Sandwiches! I'm doing well with the baby (30 weeks) - starting to get to that big uncomfortable stage, but still have awhile to go :( I've been keeping busy though by starting my EMT-Intermediate class, and will be even busier with track season starting in a couple of weeks! Quin is fully recovered from his surgery and loves to keep busy with trains and torchering the dogs. He's not quite getting the fact that he's no longer going to be an only child - the whole sharing attention and toys is going to be veeerrrry interesting! Niel is keeping busy with work and the basement and doing a good job at both. Other than that little update all is well! We hope everyone else is well too!

Sorry we have neglected our blog. Reasons include new fun found on Facebook, busy, lazy, etc. Enjoy this picture of my favorite muppet. It brings me smiles everyday.

Surgery Day...

First off, thank you everyone for all of your love and concern!!! And for those of you that were wondering, Quin did really well today. We had to be at the hospital at 7:30, with his surgery not being till 8:50. Lots of paper work, and Quin, being an (almost) 2 year old, and hungry and thirsty, did not like this part! Thankfully, daddy found a little red wagon and paraded him up and down the hall way with 'choo, choo' noises :) He even did ok when they took him back with out mommy and daddy. The surgery it's self was really short. The doctor came out with in 20 minutes and said he was done! But then we had to wait for him to come out of recovery before we could see him. I guess he was a little fussy coming out, asking for mommy and daddy, but once we arrived, he just snuggled up in a chair with daddy to watch cartoons - while mommy fed him a popsicle. He did really good coming out. After an hour of checking vitals and making sure he wasn't throwing up, he got to go home. As we were packing everything up, he was already running around the recovery room saying hi to everyone! From there, we went to grandmas where he had some lunch and then finally home! He's been a sleep since 1:30 (thanks to hydrocoden) but seems to be doing well over all! He has his post op next week, so we will keep you posted!

Merry Christmas

A little late, but we hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We were pretty bad at pictures this year - I've come to rely on my dad too much to take them since he is the photographer of the family. Until I get them from him this is what I have :) We tried getting pics of Quin and his cousin Lexi with Santa, but Quin didn't want much to do with it. Hopefully next year he'll warm up to him :)

Update...

So Quin had his Dr. apt today - indeed it is Trigger Thumb, and he is scheduled to have surgery Jan. 6th :( The doc said it's only a simple 1/2 hour surgery, but it's still scary to think that he is going to have to go under!!! And chances are good that this could occur in his other thumb. Keep him in your prayers and we'll keep ya updated.
